BILLY SMITH IS AN NRL STAR ON THE RISE FOR THE SYDNEY ROOSTERS.
A talented outside back, Smith grew up in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs while he attended The Scots College where he shone in the school’s 1st XV rugby union team.
Drafted into the Roosters development system after school, Smith transitioned to rugby league in 2018 where he set his sights on the NRL via the club’s feeder teams the North Sydney Bears and Wyong Roos.
Smith’s potential was realised quickly by Roosters coach Trent Robinson, who handed him his NRL debut in 2019 during the clubs NRL premiership winning year.
However, he was forced to deal with adversity early in his NRL career when he suffered a torn ACL in pre-season training for the 2020 season.
He was forced to take the tough road of injury rehabilitation across the next two seasons as separate injuries tested his dedication to his NRL dreams while unfortunate injuries hampered his availability.
In season 2023 he has bounced back for the Roosters as a shining light in their campaign so far.
At age 23, Smith resides in Sydney. He conveys resilience, hard work and integrity in anything he touches. He represents the future of the Sydney Roosters and the next generation of NRL talent.
